You may believe caring for baby teeth isn’t necessary because they will eventually fall out. However, this assumption could not be further from the truth. Aside from allowing your child to chew and smile, baby teeth are vital placeholders for adult permanent teeth. If a baby tooth falls too soon, the gap closes, preventing the adult tooth from emerging properly. If a baby tooth remains too long and does not fall when it should, the adult tooth may not have enough room to enter the jaw, indicating an issue with the impending adult teeth.
Priya Dental Clinic ensures that your children’s teeth are in good hands. We as a team will guarantee that your child has a positive experience with oral hygiene and dental treatment.
Parents, Please read the following
Please do not use fear of dentistry or dentists as a threat to discipline your child. It develops an unhealthy fear of dentistry and has long-term harmful consequences. Instead, attempt positive reinforcement – “The dentist is going to be so happy to see how well you brush your teeth” rather than “The dentist is going to drill into your teeth because you eat too many chocolates.
FAQs
1. When should my child's first dental appointment be?
We recommend the first dental appointment after one year of age. Don't panic if your teeth haven't yet erupted; this appointment is mainly to make parents and children comfortable with dentistry and to discuss oral hygiene tips. Other issues may arise at this early age and will be handled.
2. How soon after the procedure will my child be able to return to eating regular food?
The paediatric dentist will provide procedure-specific instructions. In most cases, a youngster should be able to resume standard feeding patterns within 24 to 48 hours.
3. How often does my child need to visit the dentist?
All children should visit a dentist every six months to guarantee adequate oral hygiene.
4. How will the dentist make my child feel comfortable during the procedure?
The dentist will employ a variety of approaches, including positive reinforcement, diversion, and use of anesthesia, to ensure that your child has a stress-free dental experience.
